When I was fifteen
Flying once around the sun
Washed with rays of light
Brushed by wondrous blossoms
Blushing with the newness of a life
Unknown and beckoning

When I was fifteen
Dazzled by boys
Blurred with secret kisses
Wakened by sounds of soft dreams
Drifting by on promises of love
Hesitant and stumbling

When I was fifteen
Laying in the waving grass
Whispered by breezes tickling my face
Coaxed into streams of old time
As the world turned slowly
Steady and knowing
